Teacher Appreciation Week Profile: Rocio Peña

May 1st-5th is Teacher Appreciation Week! In honor of all the hard work that our teachers do day-in and day-out we wanted to profile several of our awesome teachers; taking a look at how and why they chose Immanuel to call home.

Rocio Pena is one of two of our 1st Grade teachers here at ICS. She is an Alumnus of Colegio de Bachilleres del Estate de Chihuahua Plantel 5 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. She attended El Paso Community College and the University of Texas at El Paso and attained degrees in Journalism and Business Administration. Pena followed her children to ICS after they transferred here from Vineyard. She always had a heart to be in Education and truly believes that God placed her here.

Rocio Pena has worked at ICS for 22 years now. Her favorite memory at ICS is being able to watch her children grow up and graduate from Immanuel. She cherishes the support and appreciation her children continue to show her as mom/teacher.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening and flavored teas, and would love to one day catch a fish!

Thank you Rocio Pena for being a part of our ICS Family, your hard work as an educator is truly appreciated!
