Hi Warrior Families,
During the next four weeks of our Weekly Update and through this blog, we will be going “Back to the Foundation” and remembering why we do what we do. We will begin today by looking at the role of the parent.
First, let me say a big “Thank You” to you for your commitment to Christian schooling. We know that it is a big investment that you make in your children’s education and for many of you, it is a sacrifice to send your children to ICS.
What does Scripture say about education? Deuteronomy 6 says that as parents, we should diligently teach these commandments to our children, particularly the Greatest Commandment. Psalm 78 says that we need to teach the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord and all the wonders that He has done. As parents, we choose others to assist us in this process. We choose a school and, most often, a church to partner with us in this process.
We are blessed that you have chosen to partner with ICS in the education of your children. With you, God allows us to take part in transforming the lives of the next generation. As a school, we want you to know:
We want the very best for your children. Our desire is for our students to reach their full potential academically, spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
We have an open door. We obviously want to hear the positive happenings in the life of your children, but when you have a concern, we want and need to hear that also.
We covet your prayers! Your prayers give us energy and provide us with wisdom and discernment to make sound decisions.
Thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in the education of your children – we are blessed!
In His Service,
John R Davis
